Thomas began playing the trumpet at the age of 8 and a quickly discovered a passion for it. He became involved in all the major music groups at both Saint Kentigern Boys’ School and Saint Kentigern College. During secondary school, he was selected for the NZSSSO program in Christchurch as First Trumpet.
Thomas is in his first year of a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Music conjoint at the University of Auckland.
Outside of music, Thomas is a quiet, cheerful young man. His hobbies include fishing, computer games and family time.
