Sophie Wolff-Wigley

Sophie is 18 years old and has been learning the cello for 8 years with Robin Snape. She has been part of several music ensembles, including the Aotea Youth Symphony. With the AYS she travelled to Tahiti in 2013, playing with the Conservatoire Artistique de la Polynésie Française, and to France in mid 2016, where she had the amazing opportunity of playing with the Lyon Symphony Orchestra.

Every year she attends Gaidhealtachd, a Celtic festival where all aspects of Celtic culture and music are explored and taught with tutors from around the world. This has exposed Sophie to new ideas and people and expanded her love of playing music.

Sophie is currently in her first year at the University of Auckland, studying for a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music and History.
