Rangi is in his second year studying towards a Bachelor of Music majoring in Classical Performance French Horn at the University of Auckland School of Music. He has played principal horn in both of the country’s top community concert bands and also played principal horn in the New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds, the national concert band of New Zealand.
Rangi works at a Finance company and, to fill in his limited spare time, enjoys positions on committees and community groups. He has been a member of the New Zealand Concert Band Association Executive Committee and serves as the Secretary on the Executive Committee for Manukau Concert Band, the reigning champion Community Band.
When asked what Rangi values most in life he says “Good times with friends and all the experiences that life throws at you. Music is a good field for life-long friends and experiences”.
