John is new to AYO in 2019 and is looking forward to the musical opportunity and community it will provide. He is in his second year at the University of Auckland studying statistics and music composition degrees. He has played viola since 2013 and piano since 2005. Over the years John has enjoyed being a part of several orchestras, chamber groups and bands, including the Aotea Youth Symphony and the Dalewool Youth Brass Band. He has played several other instruments including violin and percussion.
John also enjoys photography, tramping in the New Zealand outdoors and spending time with friends.
