Jessie is in her fourth year at the University of Auckland, where she studies a BA/BMus conjoint degree in sociology, politics and classical performance viola with Stephen Larsen.
Originally from Christchurch, Jessie joined AYO in mid-2018. She has played in the NZSO National Youth Orchestra since 2017, and has attend NZSQ’s Adam Chamber Music Summer School on a number of occasions. Additionally, her string quartet is a current APO Young Achiever ensemble.
When not playing viola or studying, Jessie enjoys teaching the piano, reading a wide range of literature (from fiction to critical theory), and getting involved in local politics.
