Music has always been an important part of Eddie’s life. He started playing the violin at age 3, learning with Dr Elena Abramova, and discovered a love for orchestra through his schools and community.
Eddie began learning the oboe at 11 with Alison Jepson, and the complexity of the woodwind instrument drew him in. He fully switched to oboe two years in 2019, playing in various school orchestras and bands, and eventually passed his ATCL exam with distinction in 2022.
Eddie has been playing oboe in the AYO since 2021, learning under Martin Lee, and is currently studying first-year chemistry at the University of Auckland.
