Aston is a Year 13 student at Orewa College, and he has always had a passion for music. He started playing piano when he was 7, and started oboe when he was 11. Aston is currently learning oboe under Bede Hanley, and he is also a member of his school’s concert and jazz bands. Also he has played with the NZYSW, Auckland Oratorio Choral, and the University of Auckland Symphony Orchestra.
Other than music, Aston is a Head Academic Prefect and student council member. Also he enjoys reading, watching movies and volunteering at a local op shop.
This is Aston’s first year with the AYO and he is excited to play incredible music with such a great ensemble.
